  1. Head gasket shouldnt be a problem as long as its had the new style gasket and the new metal dowels. Otherwise if it does go expect a bill of around the 500 mark to have it replaced.
  2. Just put it back to standard or get some alloys that are ford that shouldnt make a difference. Or like other people have said dont tell them about the backbox. You could try the "Oh i thought it was standard" line
  3. Its not a escort but something japanese and seeing as my dad does a lot of miles travelling backwards and forwards from europe he needs something that will happily eat mileage with no problems. Now he already has one of these but a T reg and a 3.0V6 auto which is in a bodyshop at the moment being reparied after a disagreement with a volvo The cars a 1998 Manual 2.2 16valve Toyota Camry sport 86,000 miles, Full Toyota history, Air con, electric windows all round, electric sunroof, electric mirrors, ABS, climate control. Paid £1400
  4. What chav in ther right mind would A: Be able to afford one of these cars B: Choose one over a rusty old 1.2 Nova
  5. Sounds like the exact same symptoms that mine had before it blew, i had the cold blowers etc and it eventually overheated and cause not only the headgasket to go but i also had to have my head skimmed as it was warped.
  6. Dude i would be very worried if you dont have a rear axel How do you drive anywhere
  7. You can usually tell stem seal wear as you may get a puff of blue smoke on cold start or when the car has been stood for a few days and you start it. Usually a sign of ring wear is blue smoke under load, try coasting along at 70mph in 5th then drop in to 4th and floor it if it smokes its possibly your rings. Or the over option is you could do a wet compression test.
  8. Very nice tidys the car up a treat. Tis rather ANL tho
  9. Think some people need to get off there high horse tbh Can't see the harm in posting a cruise for a charity
  10. I was gona say that they looked like keskins im pretty fond of that euro style escort certainly different

    eating pads

The grooves cut in to the pad to stop them glazing during hard braking and also help to take dust away from the surface area aswell as dissipating heat. You might see a increase in pad use, but not as much as your experiencing. I would maybe try changing your pads for a better brand?
  12. Vw phaeton ther pretty nice, or as mentioned above a audi rs4 i like them
  13. I found a megasquirt kit for a tad over 300quid a while back. Theres a place that deals in it but i cant for the life of me remember what they were called. Other thing you got to be carefull with is that some places wont touch megasquirt
  14. Indeedy it is, dig out the old thread was pretty funny aswell although some people took it to seriously. Anyway back to the TVR Very nice car indeed what dreams are made of, altho as mentioned its nothing compared to a 2litre scort
  15. I have been looking into bike bodies route myself and as stu has said and ive been told by a few people to do it properly and get a decent manifold and do it properly, it is possible to do it without but as said your most likely going to lose some performance.
