first things first,

i AM going to put an rst motor in my cabrio.

what is the difference in the rst motors?( i see them in the engine specs as frst and erst)(whats the crack with that?)

will i need to change the engine mounts? whats involved in the swap?

mine is a 1991 mk5 1.6 injection cabrio.

just want to know anything important about the engines and the swap coz i am buying stuff for it now.

cheers peeps

I know you have your heart set on a 130 bhp RST engine, but have you considered a 2.0 litre zetec conversion, same power as a standard RST, and more reliable without those expensive turbo bit's needing fixing, and it will go straight in with the need for changing the fuel tank etc.

Don't forget to convert any of the mk5 onwards car's, whether they are a CHV or a ZETEC to a RST engine, your gonna need all of the bits that it would take to convert a mk4 xr3i to a RST, and they really are expensive, not to menction it won't be a straight fit so some fabrication will be needed..........

:curse:

Go 2.0 zetec mate! Group 7/8 are the engines usually! VS group 15 for a RST! :curse:
