Stu
It's weird how low these end up when swapping the rear beams! I am going to investigate!
Trig
that is on Eibach -30mm springs, its freaky how low they get with a rear beam swap, thats why Im not going for a RS beam on mine, Im going to make something else.
Stu
I've considered looking into making adapters to raise the pick-up points on those beams for such conversions but unsure if many people would want them. Anyway, hijack over!
94 ELX
pointless to swap the whole beam when you can just swap the hubs and put on the sway bar
Trig
pointless to swap the whole beam when you can just swap the hubs and put on the sway bar The ARB wont bolt on behind the hubs, the mount is not on there for it.

And some of the beams have triangulation plates inplace which stop it too. The question you should ask yourself is which beam is stiffer, the earlier RS one with seperate a/r bar, or the later beam without seperate bar? danposs86
Well after nearly two years of owning this car I am getting rid of it. It's MOT, tax and insurance runs out at the start of Feb, and there are a few things I would have to get done to it before it's back to its usual self (the engine is 115k now, over revs and over fuels, clutch is just about gone, needs a front wishbone, front disks and because of rot it would need some welding). As I want to get as much money back on this as possible I am going to break it very soon. I should get a nice some back as it has all the usual Si parts it also has a fair few mods. Koni adjustable suspension with Eibach springs,RS Front Grill,Morettes,Laguna splitter,Front Ford upper strut brace,Sparco rear strut brace,RS2000 front brakes,RS ream beam thats fully polybushed and has anti-roll bar,3 Point Sparco harness,4 Point Sparco harness,5x RS2000 alloys painted in anthracite,6 speed wiper stalk,Braided hoses that will work with the above brakes,Pipercross air filter and custom housing (and SFS silicon hose so it fits),Puma inner door handles (brushed aluminium),Silver gear knob,Rear bumper in silver with spats,Ford RS/GTI side skirts with all jacking point covers,Colour coded bump strips,...plus more. I will be kinda sad to see it go but at the end of the day I have been planning on getting rid for a while so a little over it before its even happened lol. Anyway, if you see anything you like keep your eyes on a for sale thread coming soon.

danposs86
Sad to hear this mate Another escort after this one or are you move on to something different?? The only thing I am sad about is that I never got to do more track days in it, mainly because I had a few holidays last year and a Le Mans trip. It got used though, so many good driving roads around me so I got to enjoy it. How it is now is great, brakes and handling are spot on. Might get an Escort for a runaround while this is being broken, but I think its time to move on from them.
