karl
anyone recommend a decent programe to edit/make your own music? years and years ag, there was a simple game on the ps1 called music, or music dj or whatever its called. basically looking for a programe with 1000's of sample in which to create your own music, but also be able to edit, cut and paste samples from other normal songs. and basically do as i please. cheers

PeeWee
Pro choice would be Cubase SX & Reason 4 using VST/VSTI & Rewire function. (reasons is the dogs & incredibly powerful.Dabblers & dj types for patching tunes together go for the Acid range. Stu
Pro is cubase and logic primarily.. some use reason for some effects and stuff, but the sequencer is not as good...

Exactly correct, reasons sound modules & effects are like having a full rackmount of quality synths & drum machines plus samplers. The reason i stated cubase with reason using the rewire function is the fact that you can then use cubase as your primary sequencer with reason linked flawlessly as a range of plugins or fully synced up with cubase.Reason does not have vst capability or live audio recording where as cubase ticks all the boxes, the two combined create a powerful workstation.(Does it show i spent time in recording studios pmsl)
