leeburgess
I have just brought the same kit is DJ but I am new to wiring/electric etc. How do I connect this unit to the existing wires on the Control unit? Do I have to cut them? Cheers
Panther Black GTI
did you not have any wiring diagrams then with the locking kit? get the blue connecters that splice into the wires then you dont need to cut any wires..

DJ
right a quick rundown on what to do.....will do a full guide when i get 5 minutes......... please refer to the above picture in the previous posts of the wiring. black wire is your earth.....mine is fitted to the earthing point behind the kick panel in the drivers footwell near to where the cenral locking unit is.red wire is your live.....mine is connected via the red wire for the stereothe 2 yellow wires need to be spliced (connected to, scotch locks are good for this) onto the red wirethe red wire with the black stripe is connected to the pink wire and taped up. (these 2 dont go anywhere.)the 2 orange wires are to be cut short and taped up (NOT TOGETHER) these also dont go anywherethe 2 white wires are for the locking and unlocking. these go to the central locking unit (there is a plug that goes into this unit behind the drivers kick panel,a black one next to a small brown one) you should see a yellow wire and a white wire coming from this plug, you need to connect the wires to these 2. (1 on each, white wire with black stripe to the yellow one and the white one to the white one)the 2 brown wires go to your indicators. remove the steering cowling and remove the big plug behind the indicator and you should find (amongst all the wires) 2 black wires,1 with a brown stripe and 1 with a whit stripe, conect the brown wires to these (1 on each)and i think thats it. if when you press unlock and the car locks then change the white wires round at the central locking unit. as said i will do a proper write up for you with pics when i get time. hope this helps a bit

fekyo
these look quite good for £20, looks like alot easier upgrade than standard ford remote locking kit, good guide too. maybe sticky this with a link to the item?
