Surely its just to prep you and make you fully aware of whats involved then you go home?Maybe your doctor would of been the best person to have asked? Basically its just like going doctors, but if your getting minor surgery, it will be, you in a room, led on a bed, local anasthetic and then the surgery starts simple..... I have been twice now for ops and you normally get admitted in Day surgery, sit around for a while go down for your op, have a few hours recovery time then your collected and taken home by a friend or family member.
