Aggresor Escort
Welcome to my problem!!!I am currently looking at the possibility of getting a dump valve for my mk 6 Escort ( 1.3 )! my brother ( owner of a car modification buisness) says i need a turbo first which is exactly what i thought! But when i was reading a car magazine the other day they mentioned that they had found a way to run a dump valve on a normal engine! Can any one give me some advice or information? Pete
Pretty sure it cant be done The dump valve vents the built up boost in the engine, which your not gonna get in a naturally aspirated motor

chute55uk
nitrous solutions in essex are working on a dumpvalve that uses some sort of compressor of the engine so they say, dunno if theve got it to work though, by the way i saw a mental 1200 bhp probe they are building! 1200 bhp!!!!!!!!! in a probe??????????? TWATS!
Matt Escort RS2k
Dump valves work by venting off redundant boost created by the turbo when the throttle is closed, with the extra presure vented this causes the turbo to continue spinning and reduce lag when the throttle is re-opened. There are many fake dump valves you can get for naturally aspirated engines like your 1.3 however these serve no purpose at all, some work by having a small compressor that builds up boost and realeases it (whhooooooosh) however this is not connected to the engine in anyway. The other way, and this was so funny is to have a large speaker installed into your enegine bay and play the whhhooooshh sound by pressing a button on the dash. If you really set on having a "dump valve" on your car do a search on google or ebay, im sure you will be able to dind something.

Crumpy
I think hes referring to the fact that 1200bhp in a probe is suicide as such. Im saying respect to them for doing it but they have got to be barmey for trying something like this as most high brake cars are very quick anyway.
