Insuring 2 cars

Recommended Posts

I want to insure 2 cars, Im thinking I might have the option of splitting my no claims, for example, can I put 3 years NCB onn the Escort and 2 years NCB on the Clio to get the price down for both? Or do I have to go with 5 yrs on one and 0 on the other?

I know with van insurance you can mirror your no claims bonus you have on your car insurance but I don't think they allow that on another car policy.

As MC_Bob has said you could take out a multi car policy which would lower it but other than that you would have to have seperate policies and as far as I know you can't split your no claims bonus

So if you own two cars you have to have insurance for them both, e.g. multi car policy - you cant get away with being insured on one then driving the other under 3rd party policy if its under someone else's name but not insured by them, yes?

No, both cars have to be insured for you to be covered.

e.g. I am insured on my car and my dad is insured on his, my insurance allows me to drive his car third party and vice versa. But if one of the cars wasnt insured we wouldn't be covered.

Trig, Flux will mirror no claims they've done it for me for years, i used to have Full ncb on my daily drive and they would mirror it to my track car :thumb:

righty ho :)

not strictly true rs2k... the problem you have is the car is only covered against 3rd party risks while your in it you technically speaking you can't leave it on the side of the public highway.

why?

cos meekstaaa would nick it, drive off and have sex with it.
