wwwd
I've just checked my engine oil after getting an oil change last week, and there was far too much oil. It's about 2 inches above the maximum marker so I'm going to write to the garage and complain. But can anyone tell me the problems having too much oil would have? I'm trying to add creditability to my complaint. Any help would be appreciated.
sidrick
http://www.honestjohn.co.uk/forum/post/index.htm?t=41960 I assume you checked it when cold? It'll be fine.
scottg17
will be okay, my uncle worked as a mechanic for a taxi firm before.. He sent one of the lady frivers to top her oil up at a local petrol station, She came back saying it was £150 to fill it.. turns out she filled it right up brimmed to the cam cover lol It survived so so will yours
RO55
Ah well ... Over filling can cause all sorts of problems .. Weaping seals is one .. Easy way to pull the oil is using a SOS sample pump but i doubt you have one .. If you feel comfortable then just leave it ...
wwwd
Well I've been driving it like that for 2 weeks now, guess if anything was going to die it would have by now? I keep hearing about seals being blown and the engine getting damaged.

Just seals.

jo_2k
Engine wont blow but the crankshaft seal might, in which case you will get oil on your clutch, damage the clutch and you will eventually have to change the seal and the clutch kit.
