SLEEMAN
its like a normal silvertop rocker cover but you need to buy the new gasket and the longer bolts for it to fit and seal right
JC
IIRC the cam cover at the end is different.... I gave up on the idea as IMO a painted one looks nicer

SLEEMAN
thats right, theres two different versions of blacktop rocker covers, you got the early blacktop version which is made of an alloy, well its lighter than steel and that one has two half moon shaped gaskets, then you got the later version blacktop which is made of plastic and that is the one you are after. you can get them from a mondeo mk2 say 1999+ and focus mk1's. tell ya what heres the part numbers for the gasket and rocker cover bolts that i recently bought from ford: blacktop rocker cover gasket: 1126120blacktop rocker cover bolts x10: 4473132 give them to ford and i think they would cost in total around £17 i think. also with the late plastic rocker cover, the cam belt cover part of the rocker cover is taller than the one of the silvertop, so you would need to cut about 10-15mm off of it so that it fits under the original cam belt cover!! I gave up on the idea as IMO a painted one looks nicer ive got a nice painted one on there at the mo but its getting chewed up by the throttle cable :/ any solutions?at the front of the engine bay,the wee clip that holds yor throttle cable, get another one from ford/scrapyard and fit it to the rear of the engine on your throttle cable, thats what i have used and it keeps the throttle cable off the rocker cver. hope this helps you. found a pic of mine, look to the rear and you can see the clip im on about and the clearance you get.http://i623.photobucket.com/albums/tt320/escortedal/007-8.jpg
