I cant really answer your question mate, you either like it or you don't sort of thing.

Its the "scene" look. If you go on stanceworks.com for example, you'll see they all pride themselves on how much their cars scrape, and how many sumps they've gone through. I think a static drop can best be explained by pictures, look how low the chassis is to the ground, theres the static drop.

Practicality is lost with the "scene" thing, like i said my rado was so low, I had to abondon it before I could get in carparks etc. I think maybe its just a completly different type of car modification, I believe it started as the euro look a few years ago. But euros dead really now, it looks like "so last year". This whole "scene" look has come from America without a doubt.

As for peeing me off, maybe... I could only have one extra person in my rado, and if they were anymore than about 10stone it would cause the arches to hit my tyres, which sucked a bit. But it was the look I was going for, again not practicality. I suppose its a creative form of art almost, art doesnt have to have a purpose, and people dont always lie to express themselves on a 4x6 piece of canvass, they'll do it with their cars. So everyone can see it, and they can take pride in what they do, because as said, it reflects the driver/owner.

I'll put some more pictures up. You might like them;

Please note this car would most likely be running 'bags' it'd be impossible to drive like that

fashion victim??? theres low and theres unusable... slamming a car isn't art. Don't get me wrong some of those cars look pretty smart, if too low. If you have any further car questions I'll do my best to answer.

p.s. eagerly awaiting pictures of broken sump! - why don't they fit proper skids and sump guards when they go that low???

yes titanium skid plates would be cool tbh :)

sparks everywhere.....

So basically "static drop" is as low as possible with no compression of the suspension ?

and I also think though some of the tastier cars do look good when sat that low, the idea of overexpanding tyres for "drift" and getting it that low you cant sit in it are stupid

and counterproductive.

Some hardcoreist go out and buy specialist sumps, that are harder to break

I've got loads of pics on my pc of people going along with trails of sparks coming out, it looks cool

Squiz, over expanding tyres is called stretch. Tyre stretch.
