Having found that I had run out of snow foam, washed down with the hose and the good old two bucket technique with autoglym wash, and wash mitt (no sponges here!)

Polished using Auto Glym super resin polish

buffed up then a thick layer of wax, colinite (sp?) as decided that a hard wax was more appropriate that a glaze (megs) Less shine but more durable:

Used megs tyre gel on the wheels, and auto glym fast glass on the glass.

 

Paint finished super smooth and soft

went to curborough sprint course again today to test out my new wheels/ tyres

 

had a good day out harnesses performed well still in to minds about changing the seats but with the new harnesses they did ok

 

r888's seemed ok as well

 

also big thanks to Paul (Dolan) for putting up with my driving for some tuition laps gained a lot by being showed better lines by someone with competition experience at the track. Also learnt what my car can do when driven by someone with his experience ie a lot more than with me at the wheel.

finally got around to arranging to get my car booked in for some work

 

all being well coilovers should be going on this friday along with the rear strut brace I bought ages ago which will be bolted in whilst rear suspension is off

full set of front powerflex bushes (except arb bushes as has a front eibach arb on)

 

again all being well should be going on the car on friday

 

that will probably be as much as I will get done before going to Llandow in a few weeks

 

after that will need to get cracking for ford fair to up the spec again

 

my current suspension set up should be coming off if anyone would be interested in making an offer for it

As it was raining started off in the morning with road tyres on toyo t1r's have to say that the performance of them was rubbish offered very little traction.

 

Decided at lunchtime to swap over to some decent tyres kumho v07a's they were a lot better

 

They performed better in the wet than the toyo's despite being semi slicks and once it stopped raining put in some decent laps even on damp tarmac. they were "interesting" on standing water but still impressed with them.

 

Experience has taught me that there is always at least one idiot at each track day who ignores all the safety briefing and thinks they are a far better driver than they actually are. Well there was one here who insisted on trying to overtake into the chicane at every opportunity forcing people to swerve.

 

He still didn't learn after two black flags needless to say he learnt the hard way

car looks good, liking the subtle mods and the fact it is built to be driven hard in the right places.

Thought it was about time for a decent update on this.

 

As is ever the case I left getting my car ready for ford fair till the last minute.

 

I had previously bought some BC racing coilovers but there were some issues with fitting them. However those issues were resolved my the supplier and they had then been sitting in the boot of the car in garage for a while.

 

This week I had received my whiteline adjustable rear sway bar and also an OMP front lower strut brace.

 

I went to Jamsport today to get the handling sorted out.

 

Have to give Jamsport a big thumbs up as the service was great and had all of the above parts fitted.

 

After fitting the coilovers they did a full geometry set up including adjusting the camber, castor and toe setting which have all been set up to the best setttings for track use. I am looking forward to seeing how it handles round Silverstone next week.
