MOT failure

Hi all.Sorry it's taken so long to post a reply...work and family commitments.Anyway I've got a few more pics to show you, hopefully they will show the repairs clearly enough. All in all it came to a round £300...not too bad as I think it's a damn good job he's done especially when you manage to see it from under the car.

Whoever attempted to repair it last time used shed loads of fibreglass and folded aluminium mesh which ended up taking doubly as long to hack it all out so as to find some good metal to weld to.

And yes I agree Markc...that the response from sidrick wasn't the most helpful as I've not got pots of spare cash to buy another car once I'd offloaded this one.

Once again many thanks for all the help and advice I've received.

So it's been badly patched up already?

I'd bin the car.

thats hardly a helpful response!

I disagree. I don't think spending 50% of the car's value to get it rewelded for an MOT is a particularly good long-term idea.

We all know Escorts can rot, so buying another one, he will just have to do the same again later on, if he wants to fix the one he's got why not? I've spent thousands restoring mine, can pick an MOT'd running one up for about 1k.

Hi again.Thought it would be best if I posted a pic of my car on here...I think it is worth saving and £300 isn't alot to spend on something which you enjoy driving/using.

I'll post a few pics of my previous cars in the next few days...there are some nice ones and not so nice ones...
