at best you get a distorted silver slightly reflective finish.

ay worst you just get a flat grey finish.

either way....... it will NEVER look like chrome and you'll just be wasting cash thinking it will.

going to have a black rocker cover with silver detail-(painted alloy one),

got a chrome strut brace, chrome oil cap on way, chrome plug cover, chrome air filter and heat shield, chrome oil breather.

was really wanting it to all match up, looking to get a gchrome induction pipe and red silicone elbows(funds allowing)

may do them black with a silver rim?

or just paint them silver to match in a bit(ford metallic one) too many options

if your going for black on the rocker then you can highlight the embossed writing ("Zetec" icon etc) on it to add a bit of silver back into the mix.

simply spray the entire cover in your choice of colour (in your case Black) then using 1000grit oj a very flat block carefully sand the lettering till it reaches the metal surface of the cover, then 2000grit wet sand the letters till you start to get a slight reflective smooth surface, clean off and dust/debri and clear cot the entire cover....... presto, black cover with silver embossed lettering.

it works.

Ive done it before.

imo it looks the dogs gonads with the cover Black.
