cherrybeard
Does the suspension setup lower the car at all? If so, will I need to do anything else to my suspension to allow for a drop i.e. better wishbones or tracking etc. Will it scrub out tyres quicker? I don't know much about the setup but am assuming it is an 'upgrade' and that it would be miles better than the wallowy cornering I have at the moment! I have money waiting if you could kindly fill me in on my missing knowledge above! 1st dibs?cheers mate, lemme know
Stu
It will lower the car 20-30mm or so lower than a GTI.. dampers are quite firm so will improve the feel and handling.. this package was my ultimate fast road spec and is worth so much more than this £250.. Beat Master BoB
Hi cherrybeard, As Stu has rightly said, the drop is a subtle 30mm, and with firm, consistent and predictable damping the handling is massively improved. This is definitely a fast road upgrade, it's pretty much as good as an escort can get! As the drop is so slight your other suspension parts should be fine - I used standard wishbones. The tyre scrub you mentioned won't be an issue, again as the drop is so slight (although obviously if you're going full speed round every corner with the new handling limits tyres won't last long!) First dibs it is, also I see you're in Essex, are you anywhere near Harlow? I have a cave of goodies that need to go! Cheers, Bob Oh and about the tracking - you may need to get this done after you've fit the kit as it can get misaligned when working on the suspension if you're not careful.
