Andyb0127
Another project this one for my daughter as she's now started driving lessons. Got it very cheap as a write off but unrecorded, so no vic check. Full service history to back up mileage. Only real problem is the oil pump has gone, but managed to get for twenty quid as my mate owns a breakers yard, worst part oil pump is internal and is driven by the crankshaft. So a lot if parts to take off to get to it. Sounds a lot of work but what I've paid hardly anything for it, so even when it's done wont cost that much as most panels will repair. http://i760.photobucket.com/albums/xx242/Andyb0127/009ea7c4.jpghttp://i760.photobucket.com/albums/xx242/Andyb0127/7c758b47.jpghttp://i760.photobucket.com/albums/xx242/Andyb0127/d2406811.jpghttp://i760.photobucket.com/albums/xx242/Andyb0127/4dd961d9.jpg

Andyb0127
Been a while since i posted, been busy with other things. But finally got going, wasnt the easiest of tasks to get the oil pump out it did look like this. http://i760.photobucket.com/albums/xx242/Andyb0127/f8a1bb21.jpg And it now looks like this. http://i760.photobucket.com/albums/xx242/Andyb0127/3655b649.jpghttp://i760.photobucket.com/albums/xx242/Andyb0127/9960bd2b.jpghttp://i760.photobucket.com/albums/xx242/Andyb0127/c37b561e.jpghttp://i760.photobucket.com/albums/xx242/Andyb0127/cabbaab2.jpg Found the reason for loss of oil pressure, the casing had hole in it. Luckily it was just the casing, as I had already managed to source one, with out the price tag Nissan wanted for it. This is the casing, that fits into the timing chain cover.http://i760.photobucket.com/albums/xx242/Andyb0127/a8e53871.jpgThis is a pic of the hole can just about make it out.http://i760.photobucket.com/albums/xx242/Andyb0127/24ae36e6.jpgSome how something had worn through it soNeed to check it over thoroughly before I put it back together so it doesn't happenAgain. Andyb0127
Good work. Thanks Sid.Along way to go yet, just love the way Nissan don't use any gaskets and all the covers that bolt on they use liquid gasket, taken longer to clean and remove that lol. Naylor2006
How does something make a gowge like that!?
Andyb0127
How does something make a gowge like that!?That's what we're trying to work out. There's no evidence of anything broken off. But when we bought it the car had recently had a timing chain fitted, so I can only pressume some one had drop a washer or something down the inside of the timing chain cover. Andyb0127
Been busy on the micra. Engine is all back together, oil pressure is back oil light now goes out. Bodywork is getting there repaired and painted front bumper, and o/s front wing. Manged to get a few parts of eBay nice genuine set of Nissan wheel trims, two new headlights, pattern rear bumper yet to be painted, just trail fitted as some pattern bumpers don't fit that great, but fitted ok, so just needs flatting and spraying, tailgate needs repairing, tho mite source a second hand one as inner frame is bent, but will see how it goes when try getting dent out. Was like this a few weeks ago.http://i760.photobucket.com/albums/xx242/Andyb0127/009ea7c4.jpghttp://i760.photobucket.com/albums/xx242/Andyb0127/3655b649.jpg Now looks like this.http://i760.photobucket.com/albums/xx242/Andyb0127/bb2eebb8.jpghttp://i760.photobucket.com/albums/xx242/Andyb0127/4216568f.jpghttp://i760.photobucket.com/albums/xx242/Andyb0127/7ca0a533.jpg Nice new wheel trims not bad for £17 for all four.http://i760.photobucket.com/albums/xx242/Andyb0127/e7e06b5d.jpg New rear bumper http://i760.photobucket.com/albums/xx242/Andyb0127/23cc76af.jpg Damaged tailgate which yet to see if will repair.
