Callum Posted July 5, 2012 Share Posted July 5, 2012 (edited) Here's my 3 door mk3 1985 Escort Estate, its got the 1,6 CVH engine and registered as an Escort disabled as it was made specifically for some disabled guy, it has factory fitted power steering and the doors open wider than normal.Ive lowered it on 13" starmags and have replaced the seats with Recaros from an RS.Let me know what you think, all comments welcomed good or bad. http://i201.photobucket.com/albums/aa40/cookie2007uk/212846b4.jpg Hi, im was its 3rd owners and regret selling this little gem most days lol. Bought it after not even 1 year on the road so insurance was steep but well worth it. Just to correct your first post though, i got it off the father in law of a mate at work. It was standard and used as a works van with 43,000 on it roughly. I lowered it 60mm got the starmags from my brother and built the install in the back with my dad aswell as lots of other things. I had it with Honda Crx Delsol seats and a mortuney wheel too. Is the cow siren still fitted? I wont be selling anytime soon unfortunately as I'm going to be doing it up to hopefully look like the one in the picture And then it wont be cheap lol, I don't suppose you have any of the parts that you took off of it?I have no idea why it was lowered 60mm on 13" wheels though, I'm going to have to replace the fuel tank because it's been dented to badly, and the shocks are now screwed!! Would have been OK if we lived in a perfect world but living on the Isle of Wight of all places lol.. Sadly I removed the install as I'm 31 and subs just don't do it for me anymore, have replaced the fronts with Escort Recaros, will be getting rid of the Starmags, would replace the steering wheel too but none of the ford boss kits I have work on it, just going to put a standard xr3i wheel back on. Anything i took off went with it when i sold it apart from the steel wheels which i still have. Im presumbing Guy didnt pass them on assuming you bought it from him? 60mm kit and 13's were my work, wheels were purely cz they wer the only alloys i had at the time, it was going to be on a 15" set of bbs reps that i had painted up but my brother knicked them for his cortina and gave me the starmags. I found a uprated set of dampers but didnt save enough for them before selling the car, tbf they didnt do much when i first bought it, boncy castle springs to mind lol. yeh the fuel tank was thanks to the guy i bought it from, he used it as a works van and the back end was lower than it currently is due to all his tools. Fair enough each to there own, i was planning to rebuild it a bit neater at some point with a pair of 10's but obviously never got that far. that steering wheel came from a V8 mk4 cortina lol, i do have a slightly smaller one in black atm if thats any better for you? Cheers mate, hopefully by xmas/new year i should have saved enough for a budget ford again, looking at mk1/2 fiestas or mk4/5 cortina. rwd is more fun but i like hot hatches lol. I'm going to be getting rid of the escort as I have other commitments at the moment and can't justify keeping it thought I'd offer it too you before advertising it on here. It has RS seats, Xr3 steering wheel, polished rocker cover, new air filter, locking wheel nuts, straight through exhaust, now comes with standard 13" steels but still looks awesome in my opinion, lowered on apax springs, but will come with standard suspension and springs as spares if you wanted to change! 1.6 CVH engine, ford factory fitted power steering (worth over £400) brand new black carpet, original Mk3 dash board in excellent condition (rare to find without cracks) brand new rear drums and pads, only 53,000 miles. taxed till end of October 2012 £1000!!!
