Escorts aren't as popular here as they are across the pond.The specs on my Escort GT are as follows:Engine: Mazda BP 1.8 liter DOHC, and produces from factory 127 whp. Modifications are: Totally rebuilt head with a port and polish to match the exhaust and intake ports, Ported out intake manifold that is also powdercoated, Berge throttle body, Titanium valves, Corksport cams and gears(JDM), upgraded valve springs and lifters, Weapon R cold air intake, Magnecore 8mm plug wires, NGK Iridium plugs, MSD Blaster 2 coil, King crank bearings and main bearings, forged rods, Redline upsized pistons, chrome rings, ARP Head bolts, Tanabe drag exhaust. Drivetrain: Mazda Modifications are: RaceReady short shifter, ACT stage 2 clutch, ACT lightweight flywheel, ACE performance Crossdrilled rotors F&B, EBC Green pads, KYB adjustable struts, Dropzone coilover sleeves, Corksport F&R tower strutbars, Mazda MX3 rear swaybar and lower tiebar. Interior: Modifications are: MX3 Recaro bucket seats, Ichibahn steering wheel, MOMO steering hub, custom painted accents, A-pillar gauge pod with custom gauges, custom gauge install on dash and a 5" Tach, Pilot brake pedals and shift knob and boot. Exterior: R-33 style front bumper, Escort GT side skirts and rear bumper with lip, smoked tailights, clear front turnsignals, Euro side markers, Impreza STI style hood scoop, and BMW M3 mirrors. Suspension: Modifications are: Lowtek struts, N1 coilover sleeves, Corksport F&R tower strut bars, MX3 rear sway bar and rear lower tie bar, Ace performance crosdrilled rotors, Weaver pads, and 17" Enkie wheels, with 205 40R17 Kumho tires. Drivetrain: N/A Interior: Mazda Protege and MX3 interior swap Exterior: Total Escort GT exterior swap, clear turnsignals, smoked tailights, and euro sidemarkers. Plenty of the Aussie ones around here....considored getting one but they seem pretty old skool and most of them are basic ones, only seen a couple of turbos kicking around. My new wheels and a new paint job will set this car off. The silver escorts engine back in October threw a rod bearing and seized up, so I had to replace the motor with a less milemotor which I got for free from my boss. It took me a week to take bothe motors out and swap everything I needed for the new one from the old one. All in all it took me 2 wks to finish the job.
