sidrick
Looking good I forgot just how small std escort brakes were they are 240mm or something i think. You wont regret swapping to the 300mm setup I was thinking the same. I change the brakes on the missus' 07 Fiesta a few months back and I'm sure even they're 260-ish mm. Definitely one of the bigger drawbacks of the Escort and something that German marques addressed long before Ford. Ahmotorsport
I'd take off any paint on the drum that comes into contact with the wheel, it may cause the wheel to come loose.

You shouldn't paint the mating surfaces between drum/disc and wheel.
Ahmotorsport
What happens is, as you bolt the wheel up, it tightens up to the paint, not the metal, so as the paint flakes away, the wheel is loose.
