Tythman
That dude sorted that Fiesta to no end by the looks of things. There's no reason y an escort can be as fast!? God knows what he's done to that car!? Anyway... I'm looking for 2.0litre turbo to go in mine. Does any1 know that one exsists that'll fit? And whats the deal with the RS2000? 2 litres right? Cossie? chute55uk
what you want is a 2 litre mondeo si engine with a high pressure turbo conversion and 50 bhp nos, all that lot should see about 300 bhp and about 6k less in the piggy!
Mk6 Si Ross
the early Mondeo engine is 136ps out of the box but the later ones are only 130ps
Chris_1.8Si
You're gonna have to have a turbo conversion done yourself mate, altho i'd go for a 2.o focus zetec engine and whack a Goode turbo charger kit on, tho it'll have to be imported from the states. If u get a cossie engine, u end up paying cossie premiums, which are ridiculous! The only other turbo engines of late that ford have done would be the turbo diesels, or the rst engines. If ur prepared to pay some money out u can get a 2.1 zvh conversion of an escort rst lump. Now these are powerful little fuckers, but u wanna watch them as they will go pop a lot easier than a straight zetec! If u wanna find out more about zvh turbos ur best off contactins the RSOC.I think the focus RS was a turbo aswell... could try tuning and sticking one of them in your motor!Alternatively there's the avenue which seems to be pretty much reserved for Golf at the mo.... Twin engined now that, i'd quite like to see!
Tythman
Ooh, this would appear more difficult than i would of thought... what about 1.8s or this 1.9 ive been reading about based on a shortened american block?

chute55uk
1.8 zetec out of a si or gti has 130 bhp (also a 1.8 with 105 so be carefull) and when they say you need to change the ecu tell them to fit a unichip or similar
Mike C
1.8 si only has 115bhp, as opposed to the Gti's

Chris_1.8Si
Pete u no the score!!! I don't think many people would wanna do that tho, i dunno why its not more popular, would give killer power gains, especially if set up properly! Chute 1.8 si is only 115bhp mate! Same as the GTi, Gti was just more feature packed! The 1.8 Zetec lump you would be reffering to would be the one found in an XR3i, there was a 105 and a 130 bhp option. 105 one was also found in the XR2i. Tyth, never heard of a 1.9 based on an american short block! Anyway u go for big power its gonna cost u alot, so be prepared to be extremely skint, or just win the lottery... cos thats always a viable alternative! Chris_1.8Si
pete, thats defo the way mate, altho i would add that it should go chargers to 4,500/ 50bhp shot of nos between 4,5 and 5 (with charger still active)/ and then high pressure turbo after that!! amazing! Ex-Finesse
Supercharger would rob too much power from the crank imo I would just have one turbo at higher boost, giving the same amount of air into the chambers, without the supercha causing more stress A charged and turbo'd lump sounds good, but besides not actually fitting under the bonnet will be even more unreliable due to the stress. Volvo Penta (volvo's marine section) manufactured an engine (3.9lt, 6cyl, 230bhp) with both s'charger and turbo, with the s'ger on a clutch that came in at 1500rpm. It was so unreliable that owners were known to cut the s'gers belts!!! This was only a couple of years back aswell.... Of course its possible but would just be even more unreliable and expensive. Let us know what you do......
