When it comes to removing the red plastic which secure the pins in the plug just be careful with it, its your typical piece of plastic that can snap.

 

Make sure you also have a very small flat head screw driver or simular tool to release the little latches which hold the pins it and ensure you label everything you will be working with, I found it quite awkward working down there as the cable doesnt have enough length that you can confortably work on your lap so you end up hunched in the footwell :)

 

I actually printed out the guide from these forums and had it with me in the car, take your time, read everything twice.
