Jordan99940
Well friends, as the (sub)title suggests. the Escort has gone and I've (after 3 months of not having a car) I decided that it was about time I got another. Went to have a look at it yesterday and should be picking it up on Saturday if all goes well It's done quite a fair few miles I will say that out right (127,000), but as I barely drive that is not much of an issue but 12 months MOT and 6 months tax is always a bonus when buying a car. http://i973.photobucket.com/albums/ae212/jordan99940/1.jpg http://i973.photobucket.com/albums/ae212/jordan99940/2.jpg http://i973.photobucket.com/albums/ae212/jordan99940/4.jpg http://i973.photobucket.com/albums/ae212/jordan99940/3.jpg http://i973.photobucket.com/albums/ae212/jordan99940/6.jpg when test driving it corr blimey it did pull a bit, look forward to your comments. sidrick
Looks like a potential electrical issue with the fog lights Is that the 1.8t? Bit of a jump from the Escort, how's insurance? Nice looking cars these. Edited November 21, 2012 by sidrick
Jordan99940
I will admit it is a bit of a step up, I was looking at 320D's 330D's Or 330i's E46's but couldn't really find any close by that I liked, then by chance I saw someone selling one of these on Facebook and thought they don't look too bad and just started hunting around and they are quite cheap! Yeah it is the 1.8T 177Bhp according to parkers but after all the miles it has done I expect the actual output to be much lower, Insurance is costing me in the region of £900 Fully comp on my own insurance so not to crippling. sidrick
It'll keep you busy if you drive it hard, that's for sure, but I'm looking forward to something different in the SUYM section

sidrick
You'll get used to that power very quickly. A good thing about those engines is that they're cheap to replace since they were used in just about every VAG model over the last 10 years or so. Aye was trying to see what the difference between the VW Golf 150bhp through the Audi TT 225bhp, can you shed some light on this for me
sidrick
As far as I'm aware the main differences between the power outputs are injectors, turbo, ECU map and maybe intercooler size, can't remember exactly. There are some other differences over the years, but generally a 150bhp 1.8t motor can be upped to 200bhp+ with just bolt on parts from the higher output motors.
