How much for my car?

Jones

Recommended Posts

1.4 LX, 1996 N Reg. Will come with 12 months tax and MOT, as well as brand new lower control arms both sides. Only done 40k, recently serviced by Ford, has MOT docs etc. etc.

How much you reckon it's worth?

Reason I ask is because it's an 8v, and I'm looking for something a little more nippy, and I'm tempted to get a Mondeo 1.6.

Upto 800 that's If somebody wants a low miles escort now if it was an Rs of sorts you could of got more.

Really?

I wouldn't of thought with various cheaper newer and more economical cars around you would see those prices?

Far too many options at just shy of 1k to be had every day.

I've seen escorts on ebay with over 100k on the clock in nowhere near as good a condition as mine go for at least £600.

You can't always vouch for the prices cars sell for on ebay tbf, the amount of people that I know have sold cars there only for the buyer to not surface..

Your sure the Escorts you seen go on ebay were 1.4 escorts?

I'm not saying you won't get the money, you never can tell but £800 for an aging 1.4 Escort is a big ask when GTI's and rs2k's are going at those prices.

Lots will opt for a Fiesta or Focus at just below 1k not a 1.4 Escort.

Thats assuming they even want to go Ford specific.

Not trying to p1ss on your parade just being realistic.

My guess is that you may get £400, maybe £500 at a push.

There's some special people out there who would pay that much if not more but as you said there are plenty of cars about to be had for not a lot so you have to really want a low mileage escort mk6 and not pick any others

And to specifically want a low mileage 1.4 Escort?

Unlikely, sorry.

I would say £400 - £500 as well

Obviously in that price I wouldn't recommend taxing for 12 months.

It's the 12 months MOT most will look at, you almost expect to have to tax your car on purchase, tax is simply an added bonus so I wouldn't throw money on that to sell it.
