Tachometer Query

Hi all

I have a 96' 1.6 16v EFI escort. The dash currently has no tachometer, instead it has what appears to be a rather useless outline of the vehicle that doesn't do much lol. I can pick up some white GTI clocks (also a 96') fro, my local breakers, but curious to know if they'll plug and play/be compatible and for the taco to work?

Thanks as always.

pretty sure the rev counter signal comes from the coil pack, if the new clocks dont work straight away its pretty easy to wire in if i remember rightly.

have you got a haynes manual wiring diagram to refer to?

piece of p*ss to wire but 9/10 times the car will have the standardized wiring loom pre-installed with the wiring for the rev counter already in the gauge harness that plugs into the back of the cluster.

If not its a simple task of running a single wire from the gauges signal terminal to the cars coil pack.... simples!
