Shanti-Rallyesport Posted January 21, 2013 Share Posted January 21, 2013 Hello guys and girls basically I bought a 2001 Y reg escort van 1.8 TD back in August 2012It's quite a clean van with only minimal body issues. I have upgraded it with the usual mods such as Mk6 colour coded mirrors and bumpers Electric windows and central locking. And 16" mondeo alloys and rs2000 steering wheel. Puma white clocks and rs2000 raven flow recaros with matching door cards. All was well and good until yesterday when I took it out in the snow. I had been out for 5 mins or so and the engine started to growl and progressively it's getting louder and louder. So today I have decided to do a 2.0 Zetec turbo engine conversion on it I'm not going to rush it so it may take some time to complete. But firstly I'm going to run it as a 1.8 Zetec 115 bhp until I can get the 2.0 Zetec turbo lump built up so watch this space. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Even ones that look like they're going the distance seem to fall at the last hurdle! Will be a good one to watch whichever way it goes. Any other plans apart from the engine? Decambered springs or axle flip, axle flip works well with 2 extra leaf springs which raises it back up 1 inch. Rear brakes.. my rs2k van had rear st170 discs, calipers, braided lines and custom brackets that mount to tthe axle once the drum is removed.
