my recomendation would be to take the engine out. rebuild with the 130 parts. as well as having the head skimmed a decent amount. all that decent exhaust including manifold and decat id expect to see140bhp

On my car yes but i don't have a garage. I do most of the things "on the street"

 

The rs2k conversion requires investments which i'd like to skip, not to mention the mechanical hassle around it. I can't use any parts that i already have around and the engines+gearbox and other stuff are not easy to find around and the condition is under question too.

If you don't have much money then don't waste what you do have on pointless 'upgrades' to your current setup. You probably need the money for more important things.

To be honest, as you said you would buy a 2L bottom end and rebuild it with new bits, i don't see the problem in getting an Rs Turbo engine, rebuilding it and chucking that in if you can do it all yourself. Even better if you know of an engine in good nick.
