bronze4door
calling all escort supsension Guru's I have a set of Koni shocks on my escort and one of the rear springs has snapped the suspension was bought second hand and the only info i got was they are Koni's and roughly lower the car 35mm the shocks have a red body and the springs are purple, after doing some digging aorund the Koni website they used to colour code the parts of the suspension but i can not find any info on the purple springs, the supension is a couple of years old so the info is not available ont he website it only has the new products. would anyone on here happen to know what the springs are on my car so i can look up getting another set? if not what would be a good set of springs for me to purchase that would match my Koni shocks as i use my car for track days but it will also be my daily driver so it needs to be a compromise between them both, also i do not want my car any lower than what it was when it was last ont he road? Ahmotorsport
There should be a number stamped on the spring somewhere, generally on the top or bottom flattened off coil. That will be the spring rate, e.g "500lb." Measure the open length and send the dimensions to a spring company, Faulkners are good.
Stu
A set of H&R springs will work well with them (assuming they're in good condition).. buy from ebay or from Dan@SRB power in Essex..
