Just bought an N/A 1.8 endura D 55D van few questions really, any easy engine swap such as 1.8 endura TD how hard is this to do? Any how to guides? This question next May sound pretty stupid but here goes, can you fit a turbo to the 1.8 endura N/A engine? I've heard they run the same internals but don't know if this is true. If you can do it how would I go about it? Any info appreciated as I'm new to all this cheers guys

I believe it will be much easier and probably less expensive to sell your current vehicle and buy a Escort Turbo Diesel van.

Removing, sourcing and swapping engines is easier said than done.

Fitting a turbo to a none turbo engine will probably be too expensive.

If u plan on keeping the current vehicle i would try and source a late tdi escort and rob the motor from that. I wld not bother trying to turbo the na endura diesel lump.....or alternatively have u thought about throwing a zetec engine in there? 1.6 or 1.8 are both super cheap and either will be much faster than the old oil burner!

Cheers guys, I did look at dropping an rs2k in I know it's been done but I don't know how easy, I'll get looking for zetec a then lol, just to confirm as I'm new to modding and will be getting a mechanic I know to fit the new engine once I've bought it, Can I put a petrol engine into it? Cheers

Probs need a tank and pump from a petrol model. Someone will be able to confirm. Minirotty would be best to ask

Maybe even a tddi from a mk1 focus. They were tuned up endura engines so i imagine they would fit in the escort bay without much hassle

Why would this be?

The engines are virtually the same, minus minor head differences.

PMSL it takes less time to swap over the oil pump housing and inlet than to whip the engine out and replace it with the same from a tdi
