Markt8
at the moment i have a 1.4 LX carb CVH orion just wandering if i could get a 1.6i Ghia in there instead If its a standard CVH then u can only replace it with a CVH or the car will need an ECU wired in and the fuel tank replaced if its an EFi, iv just dropped my car off to get a 1.4CVH installed and im dropping from a 1.6CVH and i was gonna go for a 1.6Efi but the work apparently is a lot
sortedford
y go to a smaller engine
900ss
EFi would be the expensive option imo. You might aswell just go for a straight 1.6 carbed CVH engine, that would drop straight in.
Tythman
Ive got a CFi. How does that differ from the CVH and EFi!?
900ss
TythmanCfi is only a name given to a particular type of injection system.Basically your engine uses one single point injector unit (cfi) so it only uses 1 main injector unit to feed all four cylinders, tis very similar in appearance to a carb as it goes.A multipoint injection system (efi) uses multiple injectors, normally one per cylinder - so a four cylinder engine would normally have four separate injectors. Tythman
Can i upgrade from a CFi to an EFi?
900ss
You could but there's no point imo, the cost n bits involved would make it to expensive n the rewards would be next to zero.Fitting a 1.6 cvh would be the easiest option imo n to look at no one would be any the wiser (unless you know where to look)
