sexcort Posted September 18, 2003 Share Posted September 18, 2003 alright lads just got a decat done yesterday on a full system (my old one was knackered and it was cheaper to de-cat rather than replace) the car sounds alot louder and makes subarus sound like mice compared to it. however after a long drive i can smell petrol and i think my acceleration has suffered. the car is a 1.6 mk 6. would i need to get the car tuned because of the decat allows alot more gas to be flown out. the guy at powerflow said that it gives a 15% increase in power is that true cos i cant feel a difference. thanks Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
muzzy Posted September 18, 2003 Share Posted September 18, 2003 15% increase in power!!! that means if ur cars running at 100bhp allready then ur car would be at 115bhp after decatting it if that was true lol. seams a bit steep, get it on the roiling road and see whats wrong and see what ur power output is.
