Flat_Steve
18's every time. The visual clout is worth any amount of impracticality. Though i'm paying less for my 18" tyres than I did for my 17" so it's no more expensive. Plus 17's are every bit as likely to get kurbed as 18's. Mk6 Si Ross
Where the bloody hell did you find the VT7's in 18" for that stupidly low price? Everywhere i looked they were over £1000!! (or do they not come with tyres??) somewhere in Manchester, ask Lee with tyres btw BTW - BREAKING NEWS!!!!!!!! phone call from Lee, seems my wheels are staying on the estate!!!!!!! Colin
Lee, simple, the Boss XTR 17's. Don't waste that extra £150 on an extra inch, tis not worth it imo. For a penny under £600 then are lovely rims! Perfect bearing in mind atm the car's externally as good as standard. You've had voodoo's and sold em on, so no point going back to that imo, the new design is less appealing imo because of the huge logo on the rim, the VT7's are really dated looking wheel imo and very common, looking way to old very much like the Venom of the day (ironicially much as my Dare V2 will be soon!). The BK299 is a fantastic rim, and one i myself would love on my Escort, but as you say mate, the styling isn't right for it, and can you image how much of a bugger they would be to clean. Still reckon you should consider my wildcard idea mate....... Masitaly BHP in 17's instead? Especially if you plan some smooth and no ott bodywork. They aren't dated! Ford are putting a similar looking wheel on the MP3 model to this date and my brother bought em for his 02 Focus Zetec model before the MP3 came out. Lee R
i'll tell ya where the Masitalys are when i've "finally" decided , because, Ross, after just looking at em, dunno if i'll be able to clean the fronts ones up , the brake dust is caked on anyway, wahey, back to an indicated 130mph on the way home with the 15's
