Mk6 Si Ross Posted June 6, 2004 Share Posted June 6, 2004 After the rolling road me Dave n Mike were going to Southend but as most people have probably read in the main message area Mike never made it after throttle cable going as we pulled out of the BP petrol station in Northampton. Me n Dave waited til we knew someone was coming out to Mike n then left at about 5.45 to do the 1hr n 3/4 drive to the meet point at 6.30pm!!!! Anyways we got in the area around 7pm n pulled straight onto the A127 wating for the convoy which Jon said would be behing us. I rang him n he said he'd joined the A127 further up the road so we put our foots down n got into Southend only to find we were 1st down there n Jon got lost somewhere n the conboy arrived shortly after!! (so it was behind us!) Steve - that P1 is you saving up for an SR1 now?!!! Jon - like the new car, looks in black Was busy down there for some reason with 'normal' cars!! ended up at the top end beyond the casino. I have no pics, did anyone take any??? Dave - hope ya didn't mind me shooting off but thought as you were now on the M1 you'd be ok. Had to get back as my eyes were shutting with hay fever n lack of sleep (3 hours in 37 hours) wound it up on the way back with both windows down to keep me alert n decided the quicker i got home the better off i'd be so found myself doing no less than the magic ton all the way back and actually taking it off the clock for the 1st time!!! always thought it would as it does 140 mph in 4th then gets bogged down in 5th with no pull, given enough road (about 5 miles or so) it slowly creeps beyond 140mph at about 5500 rpm!!! so more to go possibly!!! What 50 zone shite myself up near MK though when a Volvo C80 (large hatch thing) was sat in middle lane with nothing around it n just tapped brake lights as i approached at ***mph and then slowed down to 90 to pass it!!!!! just looked like an old boy in his exec company car though thank god!!! It was a bit cold as I had a very small shirt on.. Had to shoot off quiet early on due to work today.... Good to see Ant, Ross, and all the rest of them (I am very bad in remembering names).
