foxdie
I just got back from Power Engineering, So were gonna play a lil game. Guess the Power, I've scanned the printout, and i'll post it later. have a guess at power and torque. Nearest gets a Twix! Its under what it was previously dyno'd at, for reasons.... blah blah.... but its over standard!!!

scott_d
It works nowAt what revs does the turbo kick in?
foxdie
its turbo-charged, so theres no rev point when it kicks it NO LAG!, it works on perctage of throttle, u floor it and the turbo will start spooling at that point, but it really pins ya in your seat around 3.5k-4krpm. Floor it and Hang on!
Lee R
but it really pins ya in your seat around 3.5k-4krpm. so thats when it kicks in then? up to that RPM is lag
foxdie
if u look at the dyno lee, u'll see theres not particular increase when it "kicks in" its smooth and progressive, have a look!
Stu
Turbochargers are spooling all the time, I think the point here is at what RPM on your size engine is the turbo able to produce peak boost (and hence peak torque).. 3500 ish RPM is about right.. Technically, the engine speeds below this peak boost figure, and the time it takes to get there, isn't actually 'lag', but most people incorrectly call it that..
