Well when my car was working witch it will be, after driving her for a while shes got hot and then would idle between 1.5-2k revs and thats too high, why would it do that? but goes back to normal if u switch her on or off.

Would it idle at 1.5k - 2krpm and stay there, or would it eventually fall back to normal (750-ish)???

 

Sounds like a very worn ICV

stay there. then restart the car and it goes straight back to 1k. or just under.

mine does the same but when i first start it up in the mornings (cold) hovers at 1.5 to 2k.

 

pull up to a junction after 3 or 4 mins driving(warmed up) , wait a few secs with it out of gear and it will just drop to 900. drives fine after that,

 

doesnt do it all the time. and stopping the engine then starting again does fix it sometimes. i just drive it now.

mines the oppisite, mines fine cold for an hour maybe 2 then it starts high reving switch engine of and on and its normal! :S.
