i take it the usual breathing mods have been done, so a 4 branch and de-cat pipe.  unichip and some fast road cams should have u seeing about 125 - 130 bhp  :thumb:

which of course will be twice the price of dropping a 130 engine in. I know a whole 130ps XR3i for sale at the mo. Good engine, inetrior, brand new suspension parts.......eh Ross? :P :thumb: would be a good buy for the bits  , and yu'll get the stronger box, driveshafts etc etc etc etc

i'd go for a 115ps Zetec-E over a 130ps Zetec, the Zetec-E is sooooo much better and bet u any money, 90% of 130ps (claimed) Zetecs are probably running less than 120BHP

If you're getting a transplant tho, might as well go 2.0 or just pay £995 and get a full RS2K conversion, engine, box, ECU, the lot :thumb:

cheap as owt and hassle free way to circa 155BHP :thumb:

whilst we'r on engine upgrades,

which would be better the 150bhp rs2k, or the 130bhp 2.0 mondy,

personally id go for the mondy, cos the rs2k's not a zetec is it??

and the mondys a stronger unit, iv heard stories but not sure for deffinate,

or isnt the esc mk6 cabrio a 130 bhp 1.8 zetec???

or is there something from another car you use?? ?(

If its a true 1.8 Zetec 130spec engine, it will have 130bhp give a take 1/3bhp...

It they were under 120bhp, then thats a 10bhp loss...which means the 115 would be 105 etc. :))

That's not what Mike is saying.

The 130 is a Zetec engine, the 115 is a Zetec-E. Mike reckons the Zetec-E's hold their power over the years whereas the original Zetecs, of which the 130 was one, don't. :)

Whether it's true or not, I dunno, ain't seen enough evidence :)

99% of people will already have the 'zorst n filter!

for an engine they dont have? ?(

Any zetec induction kit will be adequate for RS2k lump, I'd be very suprised if a standard RS2000 airbox was less restrictive than a 1.6 zetec induction filter :O

And the exhaust - RS2000 exhausts are the same as normal zetec ones, aren't they?? :)

Surely a little bit of a fiddle will get it together :D
