connect dvd player to speakers

hi there i have recently installed a dvd player and 7" screen into my escort and i was wanting to know if it is possible to get the sound going through the car speakers. at the min its just the dvd and screen's own speakers thats giving sound but it isnt very loud.

look on the dvd player to see if there are audio outputs, ie rca's then if so you can connest these to your existing headunit, whether its through the inputs on your headunit or through a fm modulator.

as benny said, if the hu is a sony its likely to have inputs (itll say in the manual you have), you could plug it straight in, if not a fm modulator is what you need, have a search on ebay for one

ok its a jvc hu on the back there is 2 inputs im using 1 for the rear 6x9 running through the amp if i connect the dvd to the other the soind will only come out the main car speakers but not the ones running through the amp but they hiss.

 

would the fm thing just plug into the dvd player's rca or what way does it work

make sure there not outputs!

if one set you say are going to the amp for the 6x9's thats a output not a input

oops ur right there outputs so if i dont have inputs is my only option the fm modulator

yeh, it works by putting the rca from the dvd player into it, then plugging the cars ariel into it, then theres a bit that plugs from the modulator into the h/u's ariel socket, and its just like picking up a radio station

That's how my cd changer is run. I have to tune into BBC radio 2, as my signal for the changer
