zambezi
I have for sale a pair of 1.8 zetec cams which were replaced by a pair of kent cams. would be an ideal mod for 1.6 escys. would take £20 including p&p Edited January 18, 2006 by zambezi

davespages
Not sure about that but 1.6 cams fit a 1.8 and gives some nice torque apparently, but you loose top end a tad...
Ex-Finesse
^^ Going by that, 1.6 cams are hotter than 1.8 cams? No, thats not true A good mod is a 2.0 inlet cam with a 1.6 exhaust cam. That will see slightly more top end but retain the torque the engine has. You'll never see any worthwhile torque gains by just changing cams. The difference would be less than the difference between driving in January and driving in July PMSL!! (think air intake temp)
davespages
Thats the one, I read about changing to 1.6 cams and increase in summat. Cheers for clearing that up.Cam timing, is it possible to get better torque by retarding the exhaust cam or is that twaddle i once read?
Ex-Finesse
I'm not sure about that one, soz However, think about this: If altering the timing slightly would give some gains, dont you think Ford would have done this?
