Acouple of mine, the good and bad

Ive had 21 cars now and with the purchase of another Mk2 XR2 and a MK1 Escort Ive knocked that up to 23 I can happily say all but 2 have been Ford's, the other two were a Seat Ibiza and Suzuki Vitara Dont know what I was thinking but the Vitara wasn't too bad round the hills tbh

 

Here's a pics of a few of the cars i've had, unfortunately only the ones I've had while I've had my phone If I had my phone a couple of years ago there would be a few goodun's up here.

 

Here's the Vitara I swapped a R reg Fiesta (with a knackered engine and no bootlid) for:

 

 

Had this at the same time as that, 1989 FRST. Was in good nick when I got it but decided to give it a freshen up, anyway thats still getting work done to it now and again when I have the time.

 

 

Then bought Old Rusty (wasn't actually rusty, just because it was brown) for 100 quid:

 

 

Eventually swapped that with a bloke from the village for his MK4 Fiesta with a damaged wing which was duly fixed and then abused and sold. If anyone can tell me how to get videos from my W810i onto my PC the you can all see it

 

 

And I had my Ash black si for 1 1/2 years and it was my pride and joy:

 

 

Then I let my mate drive it on his field:

 

 

Fortunately there was no damage apart from a very light scratch and a smashed rear light.

Then it came to an untimely end when I came round a corner in my mates farm lane only to meet a Fuel truck coming the opposite way

 

 

Unfortunatley it rolled onto its side and my mate had to pull it out with his tractor. The steering rack was snapped, the rad had a large hole in it, all N/S of car was damaged including spoiler and at the time I just didn't have any money to fix it so it became the donor car for my red GTi aka: Project 3 door

 

 

Aswell as the project 3 door, my FRST and my Mk1 Escort:

Heres a list of the cars Ive had, in order if I can remember them all (a fair few were scrapped or sold promptly):

 

1: MK4 R reg 1.3 Fiesta (my first car) - SOLD

2: P reg 1.8 Si Escort (Panther black- did loads to this, ST24 back bumper, wrc front, lowered on 17's, if I can find the pics then I'll get them up) - CRASHED

3: F reg MK2 XR2 - SCRAPPED

4: D reg MK2 XR2 - SCRAPPED

5: N reg 1.8 Si Escy - CRASHED

6: M reg 1.3 Fiesta - SOLD (got me to Scotland and back no problem)

7: J reg 2.0 Sierra - Don't know where that went

8: L reg Seat Ibiza - my mate borrowed this and I never saw it again, said it blew up on him so he scrapped it and gave me 50 quid...

10: 1986 Escort XR3 - Bought, done up and SOLD

11: L reg Fiesta RS1800 - Fixed up and SOLD (that was a lovely car, 130bhp in a fez is just...RIGHT! )

13: My dads old KA - Changed wheels and lowered then SOLD

14: P reg Fiesta 1.8 Diesel - CRASHED while trying to get back from Llangollen in the snow

15: M reg 1.8 Diesel Escort - SWAPPED FOR

16: P reg 1.25 Si Fiesta - Done up and SOLD

17: L reg 1.1 Fiesta (cant remember what happened to this)

18: R reg 1.8 GTi - Project 3 door

19: 1967 Escort - Restoration will begin soon

20: F reg MK2 XR2 - Awaiting pick-up and restoration

 

Im missing a couple of cars, but most of them above I got thorugh work when I was working at the Ford breakers, I dont think many of them lasted more than 2 months before they were either wrecked or sold, with the exception of a few, like my first and second car which I had for ages.

 

O well, theres my car history or as much I as can remember of it, most of them were sheds but some of them were great cars.

1986 xr3 - shouldn't that be a 3i they only made the xr3 up to 1984 MK 3 never on a MK 4 ( i know cause i had one of the last ones to be registered )

yes mate you are right I missed the i off the end, it was a red xr3i, only needed a sill replacing, a hole patching on the drivers side floor and some work on the rear arch but other than that it was a goodun'.

 

Canning im nearly 20 now mate I've had cars since I was 16, like I said it was a case off buying em, doing them up and selling them. Or, in some cases driving them and crashing them (never a good option). I've made quite a bit on some of them but it's kind of evened out the profit when I go and smash one

 

Plus my dad's always been a Ford nut, having numerous Capri's, MK1/2 Escort's, Anglia's, Prefects, Cortina's etc while I was growing up so he kind of got me hooked on the whole Ford thing.
