Quite good that, slightly flawed in that the electron isnt being "watched" as light doesnt bounce off it.Any way in which you observe an electrons path will alter its path or velocity as you have to use different methods than looking at it as it were. So the electron isnt mysteriously aware of anything, by observing it your changing it, because thats the only way you can observe it. This change causes the change in pattern. Also on the quantum level electrons can be seen as probability wave packets, and so this can be explained by them actually being waves.
