My car history

Recommended Posts

For those that don't know me, or anyone that cares, though I'd put pics up of my various Escorts and Orions I've owned in the last few years. The only one I don't have pics of is a ratty K-reg diesel Estate that I bought for some spares

And you all get to see my slag set of 17s that were on about eight different cars :nutter:

This was my first car, a 1994 Escort Equipe, loved this. It's still about somewhere too! Though standard now!

Next, when I finished uni I bought this, a MK6 1.6 Ghia saloon. Rare in Aubergine too. The one car I wish I'd never sold :( It just drove soooo nice, and had no rust, anywhere. Won 2nd place in Orion Register show and shine 2005 with this car :)

Then, I sold that, to buy my Escort S from Demon. Was loud, unsociable and could go round corners better than almost anything. Sadly, age was just catching up with the shell, so it got broken. Still miss driving it though, it was great fun.

After that, I bought the mighty £180 Orion. Sadly, it went bang, used more water than fuel, but even then, I've never been in a 105PS 1.8 that went this well, ran rings round my later 115PS Ghia X :O Slung the Koni's off the S and the 17s on too. Tried to fix it but the engine was well fooked

After that, I bought this from an auction for £450, a 1.8 Ghia X with leather, air con and all the other nice bits. Shell was a bit pikey, but I tidied up a bit and it was a nice run around for a wee while while I found another Orion. Broke it up and got my money back and then some, which was nice!

This was the reason it got broke. One of the tidiest MK3 Orions I've ever seen, paid a good price, added several more mods to the impressive spec, enjoyed it for the summer, then got bored (again!) and sold it for a profit :D Finally said goodbye to the slag 17s too

Then, after having so many MK5/6 Escorts, I thought enough was enough, so I bought this, and plan on adding RST running gear!

Now in posession of this also!

And that's it, we're about up to date!

The MK3 is a 1.6 EFI. Engine is fooked, gearbox is fooked, clutch ratchet is fooked, shell needs lots of replacement panels, parts need repainting, wiring in it is shoddy also. It's knackered basically, not worth the hassle. Will be keeping the engine for future requirements (parts will be used for the MK2) and may keep hold of suspension and brakes, but apart from that, it's all going!
