rusty arches

Dont spose any1 can help i believe i only have surface rust on my arches not 100% sure yet, anyway thinking bout doing them in next month or so just wondered if anyone can tell me if i will hav to re spray the whole panel or will i be able just be able to spray the fiberglassed bits?

I just done mine yesterday, just a patch up job to last the summer(If we have one) and hopefully bit longer.

 

I sanded and used filler, I sprayed the arches and gonna use rubbing compound to blend them in

 

Personally I would go for whole re-spray..If I could afford it

Heres how i fixed my arch until i can afford to get it all replaced with a new metal arch:

 

Took out the rust, rust treated it, fibreglassed it, fillered it, primered it, coloured it, lacquered it ;)

Good job that Escort kid have you had any previous experience??

 

None at all mate, never had experience with fibreglass, filler or painting. Was my first attempt at it all and went quite well :D Was more to gain hands on experience to get a feel for what hopefully ill be doing in the future, because i want to go into the motor vehicle body repair industry when im 17 :thumb:
