is it a tdci/tddi? if so leave car on tick over then switch off and listen for a 'clatter' sound, this indicates a nakerd dmf flywheel. if the noise is a drumming sound only on tick over could b a weak auxillary drive belt tensioner

could b the o-ring gasket that joins the manifold to the down pipe. these make a squeak wen worn

sounds stupid but are the track rod ends sided? i.e have u put a N/S one on the O/S or visa versa

i think its the sensor on top of the thermostat. also is it the endura ohv engine or the late ohc duratec engine?
