Gadge
if its finding a drive letter I would try running a chkdsk from the command prompt. if its ntfs type in chkdsk driveletter: /x if its not ntfs use /f otherwise you can do the same thing by right clicking on the device > properties > tools error checking but its nicer to see what its actually doing in the dos window. mykez69
im on vista though lol argh, i dont know why it is saying it anyway it has been in this machine before via the same card reader.
Stu
It's probably saying it because the card was removed from a device whilst it was still writing to it. I'd google for 'sd card recovery' or similar.

SteveB
I don't suppose that this was formatted on a Mac by any chance? Even if you format as FAT on a Mac, PCs have problems with disks unless you tick the DOS box in Options.

It worked in his Vista pc before so unlikely it was in a mac, ill hazzard a guess it was taken from a device while still accessing.
mykez69
Right guys. all sorted. non of the software worked. i ended up putting memory card into my phone, then connecting phone to pc via usb, and all files came up fine. bizarre. dont know why that worked because the memory card wasnt used in a phone. yay for vista. not.
