Tez162003
that subaru was my car off the show, but i wasnt to keen on the engine bay! i actually thought mine looked nicer, i think it was the fact there was no space left at all in it! lol oh and 450bhp on tap
Mike C
Ho Hum, yeah that helps cheers, but I'm not too keen on it either. Certainly can't see why it was a show-winning engine bay and the Subaru engine is my favourite looking engine, just looks so purposeful The overall look of the car is pretty cool, but my favourite there is still Tez's
Tez162003
i will finally get around to making my car even better soon. i am planning a major overhal of the escort dash, were talking one off! same lines as that 106 white interior with the tinted glass panel and dials behind, just watch this space! Mike C
I love the look of the MK6 dash! I'm all for using fibreglass to enhance it for new dials, screens, gauges or whatever, but not totally changing it personally! I think you should concentrate your efforts on a "Spec-A" style turbo conversion now. Will look extra impressive seing a hairdryer in your engine bay
Lamb
^^ turbo conversion surely will hit the wallet hard though !
Mike C
hence why I suggested a low-spec one from a "show" point of view it will look really impressive and say even if you're only running 180bhp, it will still be a hell of a lot quicker and more satisfying than it is now! Mike C
why would it involve taking it back to a shell? and I'm talking a £3k DIY job here (or DI with the help of someone who knows what they're doing), not a £15k monster-spec ZT...
Lamb
^^ 3k bit expensive imo to try on a diy job looks fine as it is imo
Mike C
It looks bang on as it is, hence why I'd personally be turning my attentions to give it a little more go to match the show I think you'd struggle to achieve anything for less than £3k to be honest
Tez162003
3k to you may not be alot but to me thats a hell of alot of money, the whole car prob only cost me about 5 - 6k as it is, i just cant afford another 3k on it, plus if i saved 3k, id just think 3k plus whatever i could sell the car for i could get something better like scooby, 200sx, evo 4, etc id do it mike if you were willing to finance it! lol
Mike C
I'd personally rather keep the Escort and make it quicker than swap for any of those, just because it look sooooooooooooo much better and would be far more unique and special
