danposs86
OK, i want to replace the front tyres on my Escorts, currently has some 195/50/15 on it. Treads getting a little low. However, i want something fairly cheap and yet will have loads of grip as I need them to perform as i may have a couple of track sessions to do on them before I get some new alloys. Now I have got my choices down to two. Choice 1: http://i8.ebayimg.com/04/i/000/b9/63/d8f8_1.JPG 195/50/15 Toyo Proxes 4 NEW PATTERN 2 delivered would be £73. Choice 2: http://i10.ebayimg.com/05/i/000/b4/93/c49c_1.JPG 195/50-15 YOKOHAMO PARADA SPEC-2 2 delivered would be £74. I am tempted more by the Paradas. Which will be better on grip and importantly tyre life? Also I know I should upgrade the rear ones too, however they have plenty of tread and Escorts suffer more from understeer than oversteer. So, views?

1pukkadeal
for me if you dont care about them wearing out go for the yokos as they are soft compound , but all round better tyre is the toyos and a bit harder wearing
caled
Where do you buy these tyres from? and where do you get them fitted? Nowhere near me will fit tyres that I havent bought from them... oh, and my two cents: my yokos seem to be wearing pretty quickly. danposs86
They are examples from eBay. Any any decent tyre fitter will fit them, if they aren't willing to fit them try the the next place. You will find someone to do it, even if you just pay on of the mechanics a backhand fiver lol
Browser
proxes are the daddy but wear quick as they are a soft compound and the patrada's are really good as they are on my car all round. I dont know what they wear like as they was on the gti when i got it.

Ed_van_Dijk
I had T1R's on my van, I chewed the front off in 2 weeks! I found 45's better wearing too!
mutley
uniroyal rainsport i had on the XR and their excellent and cheaper than toyos but better performance
Gonzo0
If your tracking the car i would go for the Toyos as grip is better than the yokos. Goodyear Eagle F1s are best for ultimate grip but dont last very long. personally i would go for Michelin Pilot Exhalto tyres. Excellent alrounder with great grip and long lasting tyre life.
