mutley Posted July 16, 2008 Author Share Posted July 16, 2008 I'm not sure what’s wrong with festival either tbh, its the same as the car park used for the herts meet .. with the same facilities. Charley also spoke to security to make sure we could use the car park. For this meet we defiantly wouldn’t consider changing the venue due to the short notice and it’s not fair on those that are already committed to coming along already to just change the venue. Charley and myself will research southend again, but if east beach is anything like the main part of southend was on a sunday afternoon its just not suitable. A complete lack of parking spaces together means we would be parked all over the place and also it did cost to park (parking attendants were out and clamping people who hadn’t paid). Also I’m slightly concerned about the extra distance this would add. Going to southend would mean an adding over 30miles on top of the basildon location, which would probably put anyone off from out the area even considering coming along. chrisje Posted July 16, 2008 Share Posted July 16, 2008 from my knowledge you need to pay to park at east beach nowadays, its a better place for a big meet (i.e. all day perhaps? when diff areas come) to have a BBQ and all that sorta stuff as theres plenty of parking space on the grass (footy - kickaround?) but for the usual meet i wouldnt think its really any better (if anything itd be worse) than festival leisure my 2p, and its literally round the corner for me so petrol wouldnt really cost anything!
