Stu
I hate mine for handling, there is far more understeer with the cossie wheels than there is on a set of GTi 15's. Indeed, this is because they increase the scrub radius due to the wrong offset (on a normal Escort). They look cool, but handle like Shite! MC_Bob
doesnt your car have a boot full of speakers? if so sure that would effect handling more. strip the bugger out on 15s i really want to put 16's on the RS but funds wont allow for the ones i want .. i hate 17's after having the 15's on the XR christ i have 18s lol they rub a tad on partial lock but they look good, and im not guna be taking mine round a track anytime soon lol Its all been sold dude. FWIW, Ill post up a thread later, but I just got back from brands and it was an epic day out. Handled surprisingly really well and kept up with most of the field. ChunkiEgg
I bought some Wolfrace Katana 17" rims earlier this year for the 2k, thought they looked the mutts nuts and everything, had them on till the rear tyres went nearly illegal so changed back over to 15s.... it was like a revelation! So now I'm going to flog the 17's, get another decent set of 15s as I've got sierra sapphire cossy ones on there which don't suit the car, not decided on what would look best though... compomotives (the rally ones but with anthracite finish) would look good for the future mods I want to do but gonna be an arse to clean all the small spokes going out from the central hub of the wheel... would hide all the brake dust though! Any ideas guys? And they need to be fairly cheap to source too
Rennie
I'd never go bigger than 16's tbh.
spanner
the only reason big wheels should be on a car if for BIG brakes, they are shite. unless you drive on completly flat level tarmac ALL the time. i have 18" on my new mondeo only because they came with the car. they shake the Shite out of you, you have no tyre movement when cornering and when corners are rough you end up schuttling across the road. you fruck up your bushes and ball joints in no time. get a good quailty 15" and put good tyres on you will have a better ride, cheaper to buy, easier on rubber and no kerbing. "17"+ for poser's 15-16" for drivers"
