escort4x4
id check your tyre pressures matechange your wishbones for genuine ford partsid also point at the tyres themselves, sometimes as stupid as it sounds, you may have a dodgy batchid also wud want to get your car in the air, check for scrubbing on your tyres, if tracking is out it can dramatically wear tyres out
Dean-o
Checked the tyre pressure and only one needed blowing up a bit.Replaced the bottom arms and got 2 new tyres for the front, took it for a quick drive and it seems to be fine now

escort-ross
Its your track rod ends mate, i had the same problem, sorted it for me Even though your tracking appears straight you'll find that the balljoints have gone in the trackrod end and when moving this creates the play. I also fitted poly bushes at the same time, had no issues since. hope this helps. Edited January 4, 2009 by escort-ross

escort-ross
Replaced the bottom suspension arms over xmas and everything seems to be fine now *Touch Wood* Cheers for the comments I really dont wnt to jynx you but by the description of what you said was happening as i asid above it turned out to be my track rod ends. I went through loads of sets of lower arms before realising, they just kept going, fine for the first 2 weeks or so then the same happened again. Hopefully just changing your lower arms will sort it, but if not, get your track rod ends looked into
