Chicane16v
Well the black angel eyes did not arrive in the post today, was gutted. But the alloys went on, and i very very impressed. Also very grateful to my mate who did them for me and found my break pads were just about to turn into metal grinding metal.Could not believe it as i paid a garage to do a full full service on the car a month ago, and they said nothing. Anyway, photos as promised. Please tell me what you all think. http://i279.photobucket.com/albums/kk148/joshrichards/Image008-1.jpghttp://i279.photobucket.com/albums/kk148/joshrichards/Image009-1.jpghttp://i279.photobucket.com/albums/kk148/joshrichards/Image016-4.jpghttp://i279.photobucket.com/albums/kk148/joshrichards/Image017-4.jpg

JC
Thanks people.Always nice to hear nice things. I'll have photos up tomorrow with them and some black angel eyes on the car hopefully.I am getting a mate to do it as i lack ALL tools currently. What do you all recon on the three other tyres, still legal for now? is there not a jack in your boot? If not i'd get one mate! Best alloys for an escort the 17's may look better, but handling is better on 15"s and rubber alot cheaper! The tyres look worn out tbh from those poor pics, I am of the opinion that tyres need replacing when at 3mm, way above the legal limit, but any lower and they are losing grip IMO! bargain at £50! Escort_Kid
Yeah those tyres look pretty knackered to be honest mate will need changing soon
Chicane16v
Thanks people, im really happy with them.Well had the tire fitter / garage hand mate do them for me.He also put new break pads on and i gave me £30 for the time. Tire wise, one is excellent, one is good, and two will need replacing shortly (but still legal). Do you all agree the car could do with lowering a bit? JC
Do you all agree the car could do with lowering a bit? yes, not wishing to fill your thread, but with the same wheels: standard: http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa82/lordjc1983/Silver%20Escort/DSCF1091.jpg lowered http://i203.photobucket.com/albums/aa82/lordjc1983/Silver%20Escort/DSC01741.jpg (excuse the body in the boot) its ~-30mm on ebach springs sachs dampeners
Chicane16v
Very nice.I'll definately be lowering by 30mm
sidrick
I like the wheels. I'd lower 20 to 30mm. I'd replace all 3 worn tyres. I'd replace them, as recommended, at about 3mm tread depth, which all 3 have surpassed. In the mean-time, fit the tyres with the most tread to the rear of the car... but I assume your friend has already done that.
