mies bog standard 150bhp mate, but thats enough to make it feel lively.

Its in on the 14th for a remap though :) Should be looking at around 200bhp then

A choice of car i respect, but they do need to be chipped up as 150BHP from a "GTI" is just not cricket

remember, these (well mine) are 2001 cars!!! These were built not long after the 115bhp Escort 'GTi'.....

The current GTi is of course alot more powerful......

so what did you pay??

year/miles etc?

no point saying a good price and not telling :P

Lets just say less than £1500 :P

But like i said it needs some TLC

This one is defiatly over 150bhp

The bloke said he thinks its been remapped cos its as fast as his Sierra Cossy

BUT i couldnt tell you as ive never been in one so i wouldnt know, but this thing is seriously fast

Hopeing to get it on the rolling road one day to really see what it pulling

Millage 100k

On a T reg

Engine looks clean, no smoke rattles or noises where they shouldnt be

If it feels fast, then it isn't standard.

These do not respond well to uneven mods, in terms of reliability. IE: If you want to remap it, you'll need to source the other parts that suit.

Just because it's possible to get the performance out of the current parts doesn't make it wise.

The 225 engine and the 150 don't differ too much, but don't expect a reliable 225bhp out of the 150 engine without forking out for ALL of the parts. That's my only advice to the new Golfers.

yeah, i'm having other 'key' bits replaced with my remap :) Its being done by a VW specialist with an impecable reputation so i'm quite trusting in them...
